I have just copied and pasted this from a document found from a while ago and need to follow and edit links.

The goal of site is ‘to provide all the necessary tools for students to conduct research and to present their findings in an essay’.

[This is if you are going to use Footnote references, when you numerically superscript Footnote references at the foot of the same page where your citations are located, plus you must add a Bibliography, Works Cited, or References page at the end of your essay.

And

If you are going to use Endnote references, your citation within the text of your essay is the same as above for Footnotes, but you must list your Endnote references at the end of your essay in superscripted numerical order on a separate page entitled Endnotes. You must still add a Bibliography, Works Cited or References page after your Endnotes page]

This excellent web site explains the rules of English usage, expression and principles of composition most commonly violated when writing an essay.   Much better than the grammar checker you have in your word processor and an excellent way to ensure that your essay reads well.

This general site is a guide for the Basic elements of English Grammar.

Of particular use are the sections on Sentence Elements, Punctuation and Word Use.  There are also interactive exercises where you can test your grammar skills.
